I think all the things we keep have in some degree a "talisman" connotation. Sometimes the talisman does not belong to our possessions but is born from the hazard.
Jim...when I was a child my myopia has not yet been discovered and I enjoyed watching the distorted marks on the wall.....that was like an entertainment talisman
Thank you, Sandra, for sharing with me. The first time after getting her some eye glasses, my older daughter said to me, "Look, I can see the man on the moon. There really is one!" I developed nearsightedness around age 40. Later I had an accident with my eye punctured and now I do not need glasses. I do hope that you now have corrected vision to make seeing normal or near normal. ..
