Very nice words and picture - the picture tells me perhaps more than the words, "Ready for farewell," yes, but also, ready to welcome future occupants of the room. It is sad to leave a place that has felt like home.
It depends.do you turn and look at an empty room.. or it lies in front of you.. if its in front than ..my, my, possibilties.. and if you turn and look..my, my, memories..and posiibilites elsewhere. do visit my page , i have put only haikus in my new post..
It looks like a stage to me and depending on which element you focus on- chair, window with light streaming in- empty walls and ceiling, you could create a completely different play centered on a differing emotion-Hope, Loss, support, emptiness, illusion, a void waiting to be filled- Is something exiting or coming in? all in your perspective. Nice image to ponder Sandra

an empty room always makes me feel so sad- but I guess sometimes a farewell is needed...
Conveys the sadness and yet beginning of new life.Nice image
Could feel emptiness. Made me pause for a minute.

This is lovely and poignant both at once.
I somehow like empty rooms. There is always something to them.
Hmm...I feel empty rooms can come alive at any moment of time. It looks as if it's waiting for this to happen.
Both poem and photo are works of art!
Sometimes that rest is welcome, sometimes not. Well done, friend.
I love the space contemplation that opens when a room is emptied of everything except the bare essentials. Love the photo and the poem.
The simplicity of the verse reinforces the sparseness of the space. Well done.
you have conveyed so well my view....thanks!

few or no "things" on the wall the least bindings to that place no matter if you are just leaving or not...:)...thanks!
Endings are beginnings in disguise! I love the expectant look of this photo and your wise words.
